South Shore, Nova Scotia, Canada Rough rocky shores along the unprotected East coast of the Atlantic Ocean seem to yield dramatic pieces of sea glass and pottery shards. The scenic coastal road is called the Lighthouse Route referencing the many lighthouses that serve to steer ships away from dangerous rocky outcrops. Coupled with tremendous fog, the area is known for shipwrecks. These factors lead to sea glass originating from wrecked ships, smugglers along the cove, as well as historic settlement.
